My Vidaki;
Vi
reiste fra Agnondas,
Skopelos, lørdag 11. oktober kl.5.20 med Daliana,
en gammel men fin GA ferge.
Vi hadde kjøpt med lugar, og det var vi glade for, godt å kunne
strekke ut innimellom. Det kostet 64,- € p.p. Skopelos -
Santorini med lugar.
Veldig greit også å ha et egen toalett og et sted å ha
bageasjen.
Våknet første gang og så land,
trodde det
var Andros, men det viste seg å være Skyros. "Slow
Ferry!"
Sov litt til, og neste gang var det Andros, men den seilte vi
forbi.
På andre siden var den siste bit av Evia, - der så vi mange
vindmøller.
Sjøen var røff, det gynget skikkelig,
men det var praktfullt. Artig å stå på dekke å se nye steder,
nye øyer passere. Jeg hadde med meg kart, så vi prøvde å
holde oss så godt orientert som mulig.

left Agnondas,
Skopelos, Saturday the 11th
of October at 5.20 with the ferry Daliana.
We had booked a cabin, and that was good, nice to have a bed to
stretch out on. The cost was 64,- € a person Skopelos -
Santorini with cabin.
Also very convenient to have a
private bathroom and a place to
keep the luggage.
Woke the first time and saw
land, thought it was Andros, but we had only reached Skyros.
"Slow Ferry!"
Slept a bit more and then Andros was on our side, and on the other
side was Evia, with lots of windmills.
The sea was rough, lots of
jumping up and down, but so lovely. Interesting to stay up at deck and
se new places, new islands, passing by. I had brought a map, so we
tried to keep us up to date.
Not many travels,
- in the beginning!
Syros, første stopp!
Så ut som en stor by der den lyste hvitt mot
oss. Vi gikk ikke i land, for det var bare et av-og-på stopp.
En del mennesker kom på, så vi hadde ikke båten lenger for oss
selv!
Det ble annonsert lunch i kafeterian, og vi
spiste noe godt, flott service.
Syros, first stop!
Looked like a big town looking
white and nice at us. We could not go ashore, it was just an
on-&-off stop.
Some people came onboard and we
were not alone any more!
They announced lunch at the cafeteria,
and we had a nice meal and good service.
Zorbas, - was
he in Paros or was it Kriti?
Paros
Vi kunne heller ikke gå iland her, - og det
visste vi, men artig å se fra akterdekket. Havner og båter har
alltid tiltrukket meg! Vindmøllen her oppe, sto midt i en
rundkjøring, - herlig!

We could not get ashore here
too, - we knew that, but interesting to watch from the stern of the boat.
Harbors and boats always attracts me. The
windmill up here to was in the roundabout!
Naxos
nærmet vi oss i solnedgangen. Sjøen og
vinden økte, vi klarte ikke å legge til ved første forsøk. En
mer moderne ferge gjorde det med en gang, men Daliana har ikke bau-propeller
m.m.
Endelig klarte vi det, og det var kun p.g.a. godt sjømanns-skap!
Så ikke så mye av byen fordi det mørknet, men av de tre vi hadde
vært innom var Naxos den som fristet til å komme tilbake til!
(Men så lang kom vi aldri denne gang,
- etter Santorini og Kriti,
var begeret fullt! Så mange inntrykk,
så mye å fordøye!)
Returnerte lørdag 18. oktober fra Iraklion med
Olympic Air via Athen og så til Skiathos. Ville ha reist fredag men
flyet til Skiathos var fult! Kom sent frem så vi måtte ligge over
der, greit og sentralt på
Meltemi Hotel på Paralian.
Konklusjon;
Øyhopping er gøy!
Gjør det gjerne igjen. Flott tid av året, ikke fullt noen steder,
men nok folk rundt forbi! Ikke planlegg å få med deg for mye,
ta ting på sparket. Man opplever et sted bedre hvis man har en dag
eller to der. Vi gikk mye tur, vi var ikke på badeferie, vi var utforskere!
Turens høydepungt for meg;
Santorini og Plaka med Spinalonga!
Mitt reisefølge la også til Knossos!
Naxos
got closer at sunset time. The
sea and winds was getting stronger and we did not make the harbor at
first attempt.
A more modern ferry did it without problem, but old
Daliana had no propellers in the bow etc.
Finally we made it, and that was just thanks to very good seamans-ship!
Did not see much of the town because it was getting dark, but of the
three we had seen, Naxos was the one I wanted to come back to!
(But we never got that fare! After
Santorini & Kriti I wanted to go home!)
Returned Saturday the 18th of
October from Iraklion, via Athens and then on to Skiathos. Wanted to
travel on Friday but the plane to Skiathos was full.
Arrived late so we had to stay overnight there, nice and easy on
Meltemi Hotel
on the Paralia.
Conclusion;
Island-hopping is fun! I would love to do it again. Nice time of the year, not full
anywhere, but enough people round about. Do not plan to much, act
freely and use intuition! One better gets an idea about the place if one stays a night or two.
We walked a lot, we never stressed, we were not out for a
beach-holiday,
we were explorers!
The highlights of the trip for me
was Santorini and Plaka with Spinalonga. My travel company added also
Knossos.
