Rast ved kirkeveggen!
Et Mirakel ...
A Miracle ...

A miracle happened to us!
4 Norwegian grown ups was in the deserted monastery of
Agioi TaxiarceV
Agii Taxiarches

on the backside of the monastery hill. When we got there we lit candles in the church, you see them on my photo. I said that one can light a candle in any church and leave a coin or two for it, - but if you are in an uninhabited church make sure to put out the candles before you go.
We had the lunch we had brought with us and when I went into the church afterwards, the candles was gone. The 3 others came into the church and none of them had put out the candles.

Was it a miracle?
We looked at each others in astonishment, believe me, we were in a deserted monastery, not a sole close by! BUT we found the solution, they had burned down and closed themselves in the sand.
Miracles does not happen any more!

One of my friends asked why they build a monastery so off the beaten track? Water, of course water, the springs, you see one of the many surrounding the monastery on my photo. It is trickling water, clear, cool water all the time. One miracle happened; Serving of delishious, ice-cold retsina on a thermos flask.

Kazantzidis - to agriolouloudo

Wikipedia; "Stelios Kazantzidis, ( Στέλιος Καζαντζίδης)
29. August 1931 -14. September 2001 was a prominent Greek singer.
His death saw Greece and its millions of migrants scattered all over the world, with whom Kazantzidis had formed an amazing bond through his words, shed tears, for in Stelios they had a means of expression.
His music captured their feelings in a period which
forever would change Greece."

He was very famous in Greece,
but not much outside except for Israel.

Stelios Kazantzidis var en fremragende gresk sanger,
grekere over hele verden gråt da han døde.
Ikke mange annet en grekerene kjente ham,
- men han var meget populær i Israel.
Han var sangeren til kjærligheten og smerten.

Dagens sitat;    Todays quote;

  • "The way of speaking honors the face/person."
("πρόσωπο" in Greek means "person" as well as face).
  • Eloquence.

  • Hvordan skal jeg oversette dette?
Alt ovenfor her har jeg funnet hos Wikiquote.
"πρόσωπο" på gresk betyr både person og fjes.
"Η γλώσσα" betyr tunge eller språg.
  • For meg ser det ut for at det står;
    "Språget ærer personen/fjeset."
