en nydelig måltid på To Akrotiri - Odden, nede i Loutraki.
Her er salat, marinerte, vilde småløk og syltet kritama, - kanskje den heter Sjø Fenikkel
på norsk?
Til høyere en viktig del av
"Kakavian" - fiskesuppen.
Først kom en tallerken med kraften fisken var kokt i, med litt
potet og gulerøtter oppi, så kom fisken. Bare Nyydelig!

lovely lunch at To Akrotiri - The Cape - down in Loutraki.
Left-hand side photo; Lettuce salad, wild, marinated, small onions
and pickled kritama,
- Samphire / Sea Fennel.
Up here is an important part of the "Kakavia" - fish
soup. First we were served a deep plate with the juice the fish is
boiled in, with some potatoes and carrots, then the fish.
What a meal! Thanks a lot!

"Crithmum Maritimum
Kritama / Kritamo
It grows in sandy soils, at deserted islands, in rock cavities in
northern Greece and around the Mediterranean basin. It is a
perennial plant with freshly, glaucous and pale-green leaves with
intense aroma. Its name, Critum, is attributed to ancient Greeks who
saw in it a resemblance to thyme. Its flowers are also aromatic,
yellow-green and comes in umbels. The leaves have a particularly
"warm" taste and can be processed to pickles and added to
salads.
They are collected early in spring."
