Det
er bare Megali Savatå
kveld nå, og jeg venter, - nesten som
jeg som barn ventet på julaften!
Det er en god stemning i byen, mange butikker har åpnet,
mye folk rundt forbi, masse greske og noen få utelandske
turister. Det smeller stadig, akkurat som på nyttårsaften
kan gutta ikke vente med å lage bråk med kinaputter m.m.
Alle skal i kirke i kveld, alle skal tenne sine lys fra den
hellige flamme ved midnatt. De som har hus her må ta dem
tente hjem og brenne et kryss over inngangsdøren med
flammen fra lyset, det er for å velsigne huset for det
kommende år! Og endelig er fasten slutt!
Nå skal det spises røde egg, Majiritsa - påskesuppen - og
smake på lam eller
helst killing kjøtt.
Masse folk ute på tavernaene.
Lørdag 22.30
kom en havnepoliti båt inn for fulle
sirener.
Det var den Hellige Flamme - "Å Agiås Å Fås" -
som kom. Den startet sin reise fra Jerusalem tidlig lørdag
morgen, ble flydd til Athen og derfra spred utover det hele
land.
En litt mindre båt fikk sin flamme og dro til Alonnisos.

It
is only Megali Savato
evening now and I am waiting, - nearly
as I waited for Christmas when I was small!
It is a good atmosphere in town, lots of shops has opened,
lots of people around, many Greeks and some
foreigners.
Bang, bang all the time, just as at New Years Eve in Norway,
the boys can not wait until midnight with their firework.
Everybody is going to church tonight, all will light their
candles from the holy flame by midnight. Those who has a
house here will take the flame home and burn a cross of sot
over the door of the house, in order to bless the house
for
the coming year.
And finally the lent is over, time to eat the red eggs and
the Easter soup; Majiritsa.
One is also allowed to start eating the Easter lambs, or
mostly kids.
Saturday at 22.30
a harbor police boat
came in with full sound on. It was the Holy Flame - O Agios
O Fos - who came. It had started the travel early in the
morning from Jerusalem, was flown to Athens, and from there
spread to the whole country.
A smaller boat took the flame for Alonnisos.

nå viste de fra en Epitafios, der
hadde kvinnene lagt bilder av sine avdøde menn på, de
gråt og noen skrek, de krabbet under Epitafiossen og kysset
dem.
På Korfu hiver de
digre rødmalte krukker ut fra
balkongene!
På Xios bomber
de hverandre over dalen fra to kirker!
I en kirke kom presten
"flyvende" ut av det aller
helligste og hev blader på menighten.
Alle venter på "Anastasien"
- oppstandelsen og ikke minst festen
1. påskedag. Vi skal til Panormos, det sies at det er det
beste stedet hvis man ikke er invitert privat. Dette blir
spennende!

My
TV is one;
now they showed an
Ephitafios inside a church where the women had put
photographs of the lost husbands, they cried and some where
really screaming, they crawled under the Ephitafios and
kissed it.
In Corfu they throw big
red-painted pots from the balconies!
In Xios they bomb each
other
across the valley from
two different churches!
In one church the priest
came
"flying" out from behind the iconostasis and threw
leaves on the congregation.
All are waiting for the
"Anastasi"
- the resurrection,
and the big party on Easter Sunday. We are going to
Panormos, they say that's the best place for a great party!
