We have passed this old, beautiful woman so many times,
- she is of "the old days" - if you understand what I mean. She looks the way the Greek ladies used to look like.

I asked kindly if I could take a photo; "no problem" - she asked if she should stay up, but I say just sit the way you are!

If you have stayed at Effie Panorama,
up on the Ringroad, or close by,
you might have seen her there.

Tusen takk!

Thanks a lot!
It is again the highest number of hits ever,
- what a year, Skopelìtissa is growing.

We have already passed the total of
2005 and 2006!

For new readers I will just like to say that it is pronounced with the stress on the first ì.

Do you know what Skopelìtissa means? Something like a small/young girl from Skopelos.

HARIS ALEXIOU-THE BALLAD OF IFIGENEIA

Iphigenia Ιφιγένεια, Iphigeneia,  is a daughter of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra in Greek mythology. In Attic accounts, Iphigenia is sometimes called a daughter of Theseus and Helen raised by Agamemnon and Clytemnestra. The name means "strong-born", though more literally "born to strength".
