Strawberry fields forever ...   To Dionysos!
Dionysos navnedag, 3/10 & 17/12,
- vinguden, dette må feires, Jamas!

The nameday of Dionysos, 3/10 & 17/12,
- the god of wine, - we must celebrate; Jamas!

Dionysos var gud for vindruer, vin og for fruktbarhet. Han var sønn av Zeus og Semele, datter til kong Kadmos av Trakia.

Greske Viner

Retsina er min favoritt!
Men det finnes mange skikkelige viner i Hellas. Mange har fått utmerkelser også i utlandet!

Enda et Jamas til Dionysos han som
ga oss vinen i gave!

Husker du historein om kong Midas? Han hadde tatt så godt vare på Seilenos og det var Dionysos takknemmelig for.
Han oppsøkte Midas og sa at han skulle få ett ønske oppfylt.
Midas svarte;
"Gis alt jeg rører ved blir til gull!"

Var det et overveiet ønske?

OK kanskje med gull møbler, klær m.m. men hva om din kjære blir til gull, maten og drikken blir ubrukelig ...

Midas ropte på hjelp og Dionysos ba ham bade i Paktolos elven,
- siden da har den elven vært gullførende!

Hvor den er?
Nei, det sier jeg ikke!

Dionysos was the god of grapevine, wine and for fertility. He was the son of Zeus and Semele, the daughter of king Kadmos of Trakia.

Greek Wine

Retsina is my favorite!
But here are many very good wines in Greece. Many of them has won prices also abroad!

Another Jamas to Dionysos who "gave"
us the wine!

Do you remember the story about king Midas? He had taken very good care of Seilenos and Dionysos was so happy about that.
He went to see Midas and told him that he would have one wish granted, Midas answered;
"I wish that all I will touch will become gold!"

Was that a wise wish?

OK maybe furniture and clothes turning to gold, but what when your loved ones does,
the food, the wine all useless...

Midas cried out for help and Dionysos told him to take a bath in the Paktolos river
- since then that river has been giving gold!

Where it is?
No, I will not tell you that!

From the Wikipedia;
There were twelve Olympians, although you may run across fourteen different names; Hestia, Demeter, Dionysus, and Hades are variable. The remaining ten are: Apollo, Ares, Hermes, Hephaestus, Poseidon, and Zeus, among the gods; Aphrodite, Athena, Artemis, and Hera, among the goddesses.

The Roman versions of the Greek names are:
Apollo, Mars, Mercury, Vulcan, Neptune, and Jupiter, among the canonical males; Venus, Minerva, Diana, and Juno, among the canonical females.
