Fritt oversatt fra the Ortoxox Archdiocese of America; "Johannes Døperen, hans ikon finnes på alle Ikonostaser i alle Orthodoxe kirker. "Vårt" Prådråmå kloster, på toppen av klosteråsen, er selvfølgelig tilegnet Johannes Døperen. Pro på gresk er forran, før og dråmå er vei, så altså en forløper. (Skopelitissa; veldig lett å  kjenne igjen ikonen av Ag. Ioannis, han er alltid avbildet med 2 hoder.)

From the Ortoxox Archdiocese of America;  "St. John the Baptist, whose icon is found on the Iconostasis of all Orthodox churches. "Our" Prodromou Monastery, on the top of the monastery hill, is of course dedicated to John, the Baptist! Pro in Greek is in front, before, and dromo is road, meaning a forunner. (Skopelitissa; very easy to recognize the icon of Ag. Ioannis, because he always has two heads.)

Wikipedia; Johannes Døperen er en person fra Det nye testamente. Han døpte sin tremenning Jesus Kristus i Jordanelven. I Danmark og Norge var han også kjent som St. Hans, en kortform av Johannes, og har gitt navn til høytiden St. Hans, den 24. juni som tradisjonelt regnes som hans fødselsdag.

(the Greek for "forerunner") may be:

• an Athonite skete, Prodromos (Mount Athos)
• Greek singer Prodromos Kathiniotis (from Skopelos)
• a resort in Cyprus, Prodromos

The Eastern Orthodox believe that John was the last of the 
Old Testament prophets, thus serving as a bridge between that period of revelation and the New Covenant. They also teach that, following his death, John descended into Hades and there once more preached that Jesus the Messiah was coming, so he was the Forerunner of Christ in death as he had been in life. 
According to Sacred Tradition, John the Baptist appears at the time of death to those who have not heard the Gospel of Christ, and preaches the Good News to them, that all may have the opportunity to be saved.

"Prodromos Kathiniotis is a Greek singer, who became famous after his participation in the reality show Big Brother but his career was shortlived. His nickname was the "blond loverboy" from Skopelos (famous Greek Island). He is currently apearing on the Greek daily tv show "H Ellada paizei"

Jeg har kjent Prådråmås i mange år.
Han har nå et sommer-musikk-sted Thalassa litt på vei mot klostrene på strandpromenaden, bak "Bar-Båten".
Gulliver hadde hans fars bosted; Giannis House på vei til Stafilos i mange år. Giannis var en god gammeldags greker som alltid serverte sine gjester en ouzo med noe attåt.

I have know Prodromos for many years.
He has a music place Thalassa a bit on the way to the monasteries on the waterfront, behind the "Bar-Boat".
Gulliver had his fathers place Giannis House on the road to Stafilos for many years. Giannis was a good traditional Greek who always served his guests ouzo and a bit.
