"Kvinner pleide å ta litt støv skrapet av kanten (veggen)
rundt ikonet, de mikset det i kollyva (kokt hvete som tilbys
til minne om en død person) og så tok de denne miksturen
og blandet den i pitoura (høne fòr). Ved å gjøre
dette håpet de at hønene ville bli kureret fra alle
sykdommer de led av."

an interesting story; "Women would take a little
dust scratched from around the Icons edges (wall), they
would mix this in with the kollyva (boiled wheat offered in
remembrance of a dead person) and then they would take this
mixture and put it in with the pitoura (chicken feed). By
doing this they hoped the chicken would be cured from any
decease that they were suffering at the time."

Barbara, was a Christian saint and martyr. Although there is
no reference to her in the authentic early Christian writings, nor
in the original recession of Saint Jerome's martyrology,
veneration of her was common from the seventh century. Because of

the official Catholic calendar in 1969. However, she continues to
