Brødet kan ha mange former og
sesamfrø er strødd over det.
Det er lettere søtt og smaker godt.
Alle har et påske egg innbakt.
Påske-eggene er mest farvet dypt røde
for å forestille Jesus blod, eggene
forestiller nytt liv og våren.

Tsoureki symboliserer Jesus oppstandelse.
"Lambropsåmå" betyr skinnende brød eller Epitaphios brød.

Easter Bread, is served at Easter Saturday night, after midnight, together with the eggs and the magiritsa, the Easter soup,
when the 40 days lent is over,
- and on other occasions.
It could be given as an Easter gift,
many children gives it to their godparents or vise versa. The bread comes in many shapes and it is sprinkled with sesame seeds. It is lightly sweet and tastes nice. All has an egg baked into it. The Easter eggs are mostly dyed deep red to represent the blood of Christ, the eggs also represent new life and springtime.

Tsoureki is symbolizing the resurrection of Christ.
"Lambropsomo" means shining  bread or the Epiphany bread.

"In Greek: τσουρέκι πασχαλινό,
pronounced tsoo-REH-kee pahs-khah-lee-NO

There may be as many recipes for tsoureki as there are cooks. This delicious sweet dessert bread can include a light citrus flavor, can be topped with nuts, and can include the traditional red egg cooked with the bread. In addition to serving tsoureki with the Easter meal, try it with breakfast or a cup of coffee or tea (without the red egg)."

“The hunger for love is much more difficult to remove
than the hunger for bread.”

Mother Teresa

"Sulten for kjærlighet er mye vanskeligere å fjerne
enn sulten for brød."
